Axar Patel will captain of Delhi Capitals with a new coaching staff in IPL 2025 and will want to win the first title.

Delhi Capitals has got a new captain, Axar Patel has been appointed as the captain of DC for IPL 2025.

Axar Patel has been playing for the Delhi Capitals team since 2019 and was retained for Rs 16.50 crore ahead of the mega auction last November 2024.

Axar does not have captaincy experience, but he was named the vice-captain of India cricket team in T20I cricket in January this year.

Axar Patel has captained the Gujarat cricket team in 23 matches across various formats, including the recent 2024-25 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy.

He captained Delhi Capitals in a match in IPL 2024, in which they lost to RCB.
